Sherita Graves leads with the mantra, “How determined you are determines your outcome.” Sherita leans into challenges and embodies that philosophy since her start in 2018. Day after day, it was that very determination that led her to success with The Bank of San Antonio, and now, Texas Partners Bank.

Sherita is the Regulatory Risk Manager at Texas Partners Bank. She oversees the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML), which both help to ensure the bank and its clients are compliant with state and federal regulations in their practices.

When she started at The Bank of San Antonio nearly 3 years ago, the compliance and BSA/AML departments had only herself and one other employee in them. Since she has been with the bank, those departments have now grown and Graves manages a team of six compliance professionals. From her perspective, Graves is optimistic about the bank’s future:

“I think the bank will continue to grow, and the possibilities will be endless here. I'm just excited to see where the bank goes and where that takes me here within the organization.”

What drew Graves to The Bank of San Antonio initially was opportunity. She saw in the company a chance to grow with the business while building a top-notch compliance team with the help of the bank’s executive management team.

Even with years of experience as a compliance professional, Graves still experiences something new every day in her work. “What I enjoy most about my role is that no day is ever the same, it’s always changing,” she says, “I might be looking at the same regulation, but I might be looking at it from a different angle, from a different issue, or a different type of loan.” Graves has also found satisfaction in building, developing, and leading the growing compliance team at The Bank of San Antonio.

Graves contributes her success to her continuing education, her networking, her determination, and the great mentors that she has had throughout her career and continues to have at The Bank of San Antonio. Graves sees endless possibilities in the bank’s future and hopes to continue leading the compliance division and expanding it as needed.
